E-Learning Support Officers

The role of the ELSOs is principally to support academic colleagues in effectively utilising Moodle within their practice, for example by providing training, support, advice and guidance from a pedagogic perspective.

The role of the ELSOs is not to provide technical, administrative or operational problem resolution for Moodle-related issues, for example investigating or correcting student enrolment issues; maintaining staff access to Moodle areas; providing direct student support, or dealing with technical issues such as web browser configuration problems which may impact on Moodle. Clearly the ELSOs will have a role in supporting staff to identify the most appropriate point of contact to deal with issues such as these.

A dedicated Moodle staff support email account has been created for each Faculty which will be managed by the corresponding ELSO, potentially alongside Faculty academic staff with a remit for e-learning, such as Senior Learning & Teaching Fellows (SLTFs). These email addresses should be the primary communication channel for staff to flag up Moodle related issues or request help, and are detailed below. Note that these email accounts are for staff use only and student queries relating to Moodle should be directed to the appropriate point of resolution depending on the nature of their issue.
