If you wish to assign the Student role to a member of staff, please contact one of your Faculty Web Form Supervisors so they can assign the Student role as it is not automatically available to all members of academic staff.

External

The External role is automatically assigned to all MMU external examiners.

  • Access to Moodle is available to all external examiners who have completed the appointment process and who have been allocated an MMU Employee Reference number.
  • Access will be on a read only basis to those unit and programme areas, including areas relating to assessment, to which you have been appointed.
  • Programme Teams should liaise with their External Examiner(s) to discuss the Moodle areas which are relevant to them, and individual unit and programme leaders must then use the webform to add External Examiners to their own areas.
  • Details about Moodle are provided within the External Examining Handbook for 2012/2013
  • CeLT has prepared a very helpful guide “An Introduction to Moodle for External Examiners
  • If staff who are external examiners have got other roles in the web form it is because they have not been coded properly in the HR system and this needs to be reported back to HR
